Michelle Sellars

Founder And Head Trainer

I know what you’re going through!

Hey, Michelle here!

I am a wife, a mother of 2, a dog owner and founder of Cascadia Dog Training.

I got into dog training when we adopted Sam at 7 months old (now 9 years old) and felt completely lost with the advice we got and the training we were doing. With a stubborn and incredibly intelligent dog, the normal treat-based approach of “reward the good and ignore the bad” just wasn’t working for us anymore.

So I started to look into other methods and we had a different dog quite literally overnight! It didn’t take long before neighbours saw the difference in Sam and started asking for help with their dogs. Before I knew it, I became fluent in “dog” and my passion for helping their owners grew exponentially. From here, I decided to take courses and learn hands-on from the best in the industry all over the United States, brought home my knowledge and started a business (once upon a time known as “Pawsitive Change K9 Training” - lame, I know). It has morphed into the top dog training business in North Vancouver for 2 years in a row now, and to me, that’s more than I could ever have dreamed of over 8 years ago!

To this day I still love helping people achieve their dreams with their dogs and teaching them how their dog thinks and why they act the way that they do - and I will continue to do this for many years to come.

Cassandra T.

TRAINER

Hey, I’m Cassandra!

Originally from Ontario, I’ve been out west since 2004 and call North Vancouver home. Growing up with dogs, I’ve experienced the good, the bad, and the reactive!

Speaking of which, after receiving training from Cascadia for my own Cane Corso’s resource guarding and reactivity a couple of years ago, I experienced the change in my dog I never thought was possible, and how much happier she seemed after our program together.

Because of this, I wanted to help other people have the best relationship possible with their dogs, because I know how disruptive a misbehaving dog can be to our lives. After a comprehensive training program, I can now be found helping people all over the North Shore and surrounding areas with their own dogs - from helping with brand new puppies, to training dogs with reactivity, I’m always happy to help!

Today, I am grateful to be a Cascadia trainer and working directly on something I’m passionate about - sharing my knowledge and expertise with other dog owners who are struggling - because like all of us here at Cascadia Dog Training, I’ve been there too.

Angela S.

Admin Coordinator

Hi, I’m Angela! I retired in July 2020 from a management position with a local greenhouse, and then Covid hit, which put a damper on my plans to volunteer with the local Hospice Society. With Michelle being my daughter, and in need of some admin help, I couldn’t wait to jump on board! I joined Cascadia Dog Training in December of 2020 and have loved working with all of you ever since.

At home I enjoy spending time with Zeke, our Australian Shepherd, and Amelia, our cat. I also enjoy golfing and reading when Michelle isn’t working me too hard ;)

 Let’s Work Together

Whether it’s on or off of the leash, we will work with you to get you the dog you’ve always wanted!
